About Provincial BOOST

As a result of the success in the Vancouver BOOST Collaborative, the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE), with funding from Health Canada’s Substance Use and Addiction Program and the Shared Care Committee, has expanded to establish the Provincial BOOST Collaborative.

By the end of the 12 months, the aim of the Provincial BOOST Collaborative is to provide equitable access to integrated, evidence-based care to help our population of clients with opioid use disorder. The goals of the Provincial BOOST Collaborative are:

of clients have an active OAT (opioid agonist therapy) prescription

of those clients with an active OAT prescription will be retained on therapy for greater than 3 three months

of participating teams have a process to monitor and incorporate the patient voice

The Provincial BOOST Collaborative held a launch event in January 2019 attended by excited and motivated members of 24 health care teams from across the province. A series of subsequent events have been scheduled for the participating teams. Teams will be supported as they work on identifying and addressing gaps in care within their own clinical settings.
